Andy is a regular devotee of the dark art of Scottish Winter climbing.

With an ascent of The Secret (IX,9) in the winter of 2008 then in 2009

an amazing 5 day spell where he climbed both Centurion (3rd ascent),

Sassenach (FWA) and Bruised Violet (FA)  Andy has become one of

the leading climbers in this discipline.

Climbing exploits around the world have seen Andy narrowly miss out

summiting Cerro Torre by the Compressor route when they were

turned around just one pitch from the top by a storm. Other ascents

include several in the European Alps including the North Face of

the Matterhorn and North face of Les Droites.
